Continuing our family’s legacy for 80 years now we have created a boutique winery in Pontikiana Village in Chania, Crete. Our estate consists of 150 acres of vineyards both private and contract ones with carefully selected terroirs for each and every variety. We are producing wines from local grape varietals, international ones and we are experimenting with rare varieties from around the world.
Tasting Notes : Pale yellow – green color. Vidiano offers ripe peach and apricot aromas, rich body and creamy taste. Villana ads a lighter touch along with refreshing lemon scented acidity
A fresh and unoaked red wine from the island of Crete. Made from indigenous grapes with flavors of cherry and cranberry and mild tannins. Best enjoyed lightly chilled alongside falafel or lamb kebabs.
'Kompsos' means 'elegant' in Greek, and it doesn't appear to be the best descriptor of this exuberant, unoaked blend of the Cretan white grape Vidiano with Assyrtiko and Malvasia. Fragrant, herby and fruit-forward, it's bursting with aromas and flavours of fresh melon, mango and kumquat, slightly lemon zesty too. A veritable fruit salad of a wine.
Kompos is a rose version from Liatiko. For the ultimate expression of elegance, Nikos chose to let Liatiko speak on its own, with a very short maceration period and a three-month maturation with lees contact. The result has elegant color and impressive fruit purity, dressed with discreet floral notes and toffee touches! Just perfect!
For the supreme expression of elegance, Nikos chose not to load Liatiko with many things but preferred to ferment it in oak barrels of 500 liters and then transfer it to stainless steel tanks where it matured for 6 months. The result has an impressive fruit purity, dressed with discreet sweet, spicy notes and botanical touches! Sublime!
Nomas is a dry and crisp wine with a long and pleasant aftertaste. Pale yellow color with aromas of lemon and peach. Flavours of citrus, hints of herbs with balanced minerality.
